I'm a freelancer who appreciates simplicity, usability, and design. My goal is always to create a design which reflects the ethos of the company or individual, whilst providing an intuitive and stress-free experience for both my clients and their customers.

Originally from New Zealand, and now based in Astoria, New York, I take inspiration from both extremes of urban culture and natural beauty.

I focus on design, both online and print, but have experience consulting to make changes and fix issues with existing web sites and designs.

Why Do I Need a Website?

...your customers expect you to have a website if you are a professional business, and you will retain greater control of your brand and your content if you build your own website. It will take some time and a little investment to get a website set up, but it is well worth it in the long run.

Billy Norris, Marketer

Having online presence on Facebook/Yelp/Google is a fantastic start, but it simply isn't enough to reach, and connect with, your full range of customers.

Key demographics aren't present on Facebook, and are being spread around multiple social media websites. Trying to maintain a presence on each and every social media platform is tiring!

By building yourself a website, you not only give yourself a well established platform to reach your customers, but you reassure them that you are trustworthy, and don't have to wonder whether the Twitter/Facebook/Google page they're viewing is legitimate.

Responsive Web Design

Responsive web design is an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).

Wikipedia: Responsive Web Design

Web design has changed drastically in the past decade. No longer can "for print" design practices apply completely to web design. A modern website needs to look beautiful on a wide array of devices, with vast differences in screen size. Due to this, web design has shifted to responsive design. This means that while your website might look quite different on all of your different devices, on each one it will be both functional and beautiful.

"I got in touch with Jackson because there were some things about my website that I couldn't fix myself. He responded promptly and did a great job, the website looks fantastic now!

Syberen van Munster

All I did was give Jackson a vague design idea, and within minutes he drafted a series of posters that captured my concept. Not only was he fast, but his designs presented both beauty and information in the simplest way possible – everything you can hope for in a designer.

Jacob Teichroew

Lisa B. Lewis - Crystal Child

Working with Jackson was a dream. Consistently patient (there may have been a few design changes along the way...), professional and efficient, he created a site that is easy to use and beautiful to look at.

Amy Jansen - Eskimotown

Jackson has been updating and maintaing my website for several years, and he’s done a superb job. He has a keen sense of design and is always prompt with requests — both friendly and professional. I couldn't ask for more.
